The new Pickering Casino Resort is a new 330,00 square foot Las Vegas style casino that will offer 2,350 slot machines, 100 live table games, dining and entertainment facilities. Phase two of the project will 150,000 square feet of restaurants, a 350-room hotel, and film studios.

The casino construction is part of Durham Live, a $2 billion, 240-acre, multi-use development that will lend to creating a premier entertainment, recreation and tourism district for the eastern region of the Toronto area.

For the ongoing first phase of the project, Net Electric Limited, in partnership with Brookfield, Chris Dikeakos Architects and CGL Architects, has been responsible for the supply and installation of control systems and mechanical wiring.

Net Electric is able to contribute value to the fast-paced requirements of this Design-Assist project using our expertise to ensure the various installations are completed and compliant with the necessary codes and standards.

PROJECT: Grand River Casino Expansion, Elora

Just a short distance away from the historic downtown of the village of Elora, and minutes away from Guelph and Kitchener-Waterloo, the Elements Casino Grand River has expanded their gaming floor to feature 500 slot machines and electronic games such as roulette, baccarat, and blackjack. The facility also offers various dining options and dinner theatre events.

The casino is part of the Grand River Raceway which is considered the live horse racing heartland of Ontario.

Net Electric Limited, in partnership with Matheson construction and Salter Pilon Architects, was responsible for the supply and installation of power, lighting, and fire alarm systems. This included all wiring installations and the installation of decorative lighting.
In addition, Net Electric Limited was responsible for connecting the upgraded slot machines in the casino.

PROJECT: Woodbine Slots Expansion Phase ‘A’

The Woodbine Race Track is an entertainment complex located at 555 Rexdale Blvd. It is home to world-class horse racing, several restaurants, and has an in house casino containing more than 2000 slot machines.

In May 2011 the Woodbine Entertainment Group completed a 27,400 sq/ft gaming floor expansion within the Woodbine Racetrack. The Ontario Lottery Gaming Corporation is responsible for a large portion of the construction in the newly created floor space. This includes: 1000 new slot machines, game video feeds, signage, lighting in OLG operated areas, and security in OLG operated areas.

Net Electric worked closely with Eastern Construction and OLG to ensure the timely installation of the expanded gaming floors OLG operated systems, all while the existing facility was fully operational. This encompassed systems such as power distribution for slot machines, lighting, complete communication system and security.

PROJECT: Woodbine Slots Casino & Race Track

The Woodbine Race Track is an entertainment complex located in Toronto, Ontario. It is home to world-class horse racing, several restaurants, and has an in house casino containing more than 2000 slot machines.

Net Electric secured the electrical contract with Eastern Construction and worked closely with them and the Woodbine Entertainment Group to renovate the initial 27,400 sq/ft stage of the complex. The contract was to be completed while the existing facility was operational 24/7/365. The project was comprised of several different sectors including the 188 seat Willows Restaurant, two service bars, MIS room, audio-video room, smoking shelter, redemption area and the greatly expanded gaming floor.

Net electric was responsible for the demolition of the existing electrical systems and for providing the new: distribution system, lighting system, communication systems, generator system, and fire alarm system.
